BBAC - Easy Access & Great Facilities

Located at the end of the M55, BBAC offers easy access to the tractor house compound with free on-site parking for members for both cars and trailers.

24/7 Tractor house access

Our tractor house is accessible 24/7, 365 days a year, with convenient on-site parking. Blackpool Boat Angling Club boasts three well-maintained tractors, allowing boat launching at any state of the tide.

All Blackpool Boat Angling Club members receive free, comprehensive tractor training. Practice sessions are available on the beach or within the compound, helping you build confidence, master the equipment and learn what to do if there is a problem with one of the tractors while you're on the beach.

Launch & Recovery

For some people, the launch and recovery of the boat can be one of the most daunting aspects of a day out on the water.

With unlimited use of the club's tractors as part of your BBAC membership, getting in and out of the water is quick, straightforward, low stress and means you don't have to risk exposing your vehicle to seawater.

For those new to it, reversing the trailer can be a little tricky at first, but with plenty of space on the beach (and nothing to crash into!), the beach in front of the club is a great place to practice and you'll pick it up in no time!

All will be explained on your training, but the golden rules are that you must have two trained tractor drivers present for launch and recovery and have two tractors out and warmed up (in case one of the tractors gets stuck and you need to pull it out with the other one). Also, you only need to back the tractor in up to the rim of the rear tractor wheel, which is about equal the the wheel arch on your trailer.

When it comes to recovery, all tractors are fitted with electric winches so really just a case of making sure the boat is lining up right on the trailer and pressing the button. Boats can be recovered from the water or straight off the sand if the tide has dropped and the boat has beached.

Help & Support

BBAC has plenty of helpful and experienced members who can provide training, advice and guidance.

The last boat back in for the day washes the tractors down, locks up the compound and the tractor house, and resets everything so everything is ready to go for next member.
