Tides & Forecasts
There are a number of sites that provide tide tables a week in advance, such as Tide Times Blackpool | ADMIRALTY EasyTide
For those that want to plan a bit further ahead, yearly time tables are available from Bangor University - you'll need to correct the times between Menai Bridge and Blackpool (~+1.5-3 hrs), but you can see when the springs and neaps are.
Local Weather Conditions
There are a wide range of weather and sea state forecasting websites and apps available, with a few included below. We generally recommend looking across a few of them and building a picture of the forecast and to plan conservatively. You're better standing on the beach wishing you were out in the boat than the other way around! The coast at Blackpool is exposed, particularly from a westerly direction, and even moderate winds with any kind of westerly component can quickly make things uncomfortable. Getting the boat back out when there is a bit of an edge on the water also makes recovery a bit more challenging. Check (and double check) the forecasts and plan your day to make sure you're going to have a comfortable and, most importantly, safe day on the water. You can always seek advice from other members as to whether conditions are going to be suitable.

There are also a number of webcams along the Fylde coast and around Morecambe Bay, which can be helpful in given a sense of what the sea state is like.
Safety at Sea
Lifejackets and safety equipment is the best money you'll ever waste! It can be hard to come to terms with spending money on something you hope you'll never need to use, but having the right kit and knowing how to use it could quite literally save your life.
